RE: 103RD POST

This is my 103th post and to me I think is a lot. Okay, basically, my SA 1 examination is looming ahead and I have not yet start my revision. This is so worrying. How am I going to get Top 18 and below if my maths and chinese perhaps history pull my marks down. Oh my.. this is really scary. Maybe I will start my revision soon.

I shall end my post here. A short post will do ^^

RE: ZSS SYF

"Band number 131 - Zhenghua Secondary School.... .... .... GOLD!" - by announcer

We were extremely exhilarated during that moment. My tears almost dripped down because we were too happy. Thanks for Mr Lee and Mr Neo for the guidance and lots of thanks to Mr Er! :D
He gave us a big hug after the results were being announced.

That day...

All band members were required to settle down at the AVA room at 8am which was just after assembly. All of us were very keen about the performance later. Then, Mr Er arrived at about 8.30am and he dismissed us for breakfast. I ate sandwich plus milo (followed Johnathon coz dunno what to eat :P). After that, we chatted with Mr Er about 30 mintues at the canteen. LOL it was pretty fun mann.. at least I get to know more bands.

Everyone settled down in the AVA room and we rehearsed the songs again before we get have our lunch. He said that we were not bad and want to aim for gold with honours (GWH) le. Anyways, I think he was joking lah, how can it be GWH. At noon, we had our lunch and chili was not allowed because we could turn flat/sharp during tuning (intonation will be affected). Chatting session with Mr Er again. Then, we proceed to AVA room and had tuning session again and some practices before we get changed into our band uniform. At 12 plus, we waited in the AVA room with our band uniform wore and hair neatly adjusted for the arrival of Mr Lim KM, our principal. At about 1.40pm, the bus left the school and reach SCH at 2.30pm I think..

We did lots of waiting after we settled down at SCH lobby. After the break, we went into the tuning room to tune ourselves and some warm-up. When everything is ok, we would go to the 3rd and wait again. Then, everybody was very nervous the moment we are going to the stage.

Played the two songs passably and results were announced at 5.30pm. GOLD!! SO HAPPY MANN!

Here are some pictures we took.

RE: ZSB GOLD!
Today, Zhenghua Secondary School Band had done a very good job! We had made our school proud by clinching a GOLD. It was really an unexpected result and I was surprised after the announcer said, "Zhenghua Secondary School...... .... .... GOLD!" We were extremely happy and some of us cried due to joy.

But firstly, we really must thank Mr Er for guiding us till the date of SYF. And we would miss him as we were not be seeing him for 2 months which is long! OMG.

Anyways, we had succeeded! GOLD ZHENGHUA!

Mr Er (in black)

Our majors would be gone soon step down after SYF. So sad..

=> The music being played now in my blog, is our choice piece.

RE: 3 MORE DAYS TO SYF!

Hello everyone, okay erm, 3 more days to SYF!!! I am extremely nervous now. Thanks for those who supported and gave me some encouragement, I really appreciate it. But what's now is our band is quite dangerous now.

Before I start to talk about how well the band plays, let me post something.

Friday

Mr Chong found 20 litters (5 min/litter) and so we had to owe him 100 minutes of standing. LOL
After school, I was very free and had nothing to do. So Sai Yun, Han Quan, Aloysius and I decided to play catching which is to some people may be a lame and childish game. Aloysius ran quite slow (no offence) but is true. We are too fast for him to catch us. At about 1.15pm, Yu Da from other class came to my classroon and talked to me. Hmm, at least I am not bored. Then I had some practice with Darrel and Edmund outside the Art Room. After having my KFC dinner, all of us settled down at the AVA room by 5.45pm. Okay, let me tell you. We played so badly and this led Mr Er quite worried.

This is the SYF week. Many bands on the first or second day (mon) achieve a gold or gold with honours. But from the third day onwards, the number of band getting gold is decreasing day by day! Until friday! NOBODY GOT GOLD IN THE AFTERNOON! Even Nayang Girls' School (a very very good band) can also get a SILVER! This shows that the judges are lenient on the first few days and the standard went up on the third or fourth day! Then what will happen to Zhenghua? I also dunno. We must work very extremely hard now!

Saturday (Today)

A short post, perhaps. It wasn't a bad day at all. In fact we played not that badly today compared to yesterday but I dun think we can reach gold with that standard because of intonation and other problem. BUT REMEMBER? WE ARE STILL AIMING FOR A GOLD! WE CAN'T GIVE UP NOW! RIGHT?

Eww, monday is the councilor investiture... I will be mixed feelings when standing on the stage...
Okay, that's all for today. Bye!

RE: WHAT A DAY!

Okay, direct to the point. Basically, I am not very happy today. Firstly, people keep sabotaging me upon saying vulgarities words in class! That was quite bad but I still close one eye. However, I am utterly pissed off during IDPW though I looked happy. I was being punished by that teacher for talking to Jun Xiang. Okay, that was understandable because I am at fault. BUT!!! That teacher shouted in front of me right outside which many people had witnessed it! I was like wow.. this is kinda embarrassing. I was trying to look at the slides of a group (i think) so I walk here (coz cnt see) and there then he came out. This is my first time being reprimanded by teachers in Zhenghua. Forget it, I dun wanna talk about this anymore. !_!

RE: NAPFA TEST AND "AFD"

Hello guys! Let me share something with you which I thought was exciting. Anything unique about today? Yeah right. It's AFD - April's Fool Day. It is quite agreeable that the April's Fool Day this year is not very fun although I manage to trick some of my teachers and friends. After all, it is not as superb as compared to last year (i think).

Basically, today is our 2.4km run/jog NAPFA test which I am not very well-prepared yet. Roy and Yu Heng voiced out that I would not be able to catch up with them during the run. They were utterly presumptuous, assuring they would clinch an "A" record in this event. To be frank, they are actually right. You can ponder them to be good in running when you heard that they are from the cca named, volleyball. Volleyball is quite an exhausting cca and all of the players undergo intensive physical training before. Thus perhaps, 2.4km run to them is "a piece of cake".

Who knows? The prediction from Roy was really correct. But shockingly, Sai Yun lose against me. I dunno exactly why about this. Anyways, make a guess.
How many got an "A" in this event?

Ans: 2 people which are Roy and Yu Heng

I was running as fast as I can but I am still way behind them by about 36 metres which is quite far. In the end, I finished the test and got 3rd for class position. However, my timing was 12.07 min which is horrendous. 12.07 min is a "B" already for males. Then, 11.31 below is "A". The Roy is not a human at all! (10.35min ++) What the hell, he was like running quite fast all the way without stopping. Sai Yun and Jing jie way behind me by 40 metres got a "C" liao! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!

The bad news are the run was so taxing until Janie and Aizuddin throw out.
Forget it, the result I achieved make me felt extremely vexed and disappointed.

By the way, I got 13/15 for the math quiz. Careless mistakes are only my excuses. And if so many people can got full marks, why can't I? LOL, is time to go for more specials with Mr Chong.

BAND
And, we didn't play very well for our rehearsal in AVA room today. Must work harder!
